The ENIB was created in 1961, and is part of the French Ministry of National Education’s group of schools of engineering. It is accredited by the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieurs (Commission for Engineering Qualifications).
The ENIB trains engineers in electronics, computer science and mechatronics.
Our engineers are capable of modeling complex systems in a coherent manner and of mastering all stages of the process, from understanding to design, from production to implementation and operations.

FOUNDATION LEVEL

The foundation course is made up of the first 4 semesters (S1 - S4) and the 2 first intersemesters (IS1 and IS2). It is designed to provide students with fundamental scientific, technical, social and linguistic knowledge.
All students follow all of the elements included in the course.
Students from the Bac STI must follow a few supplementary classes during the first two semesters (S1 and S2)

- Seminars (referred to at the ENIB as TDs) are units of teaching which mix classes and directed study within a group of a maximum of 36 students. In some cases, these laboratory groups may be divided into sub-groups (for projects and practical work). The Academic semesters S1 – S4 are made up of around 60% seminars and 40% laboratory sessions divided up as shown in the diagram below.

Foundation Course: S1 - S4

Intersemesters offer 4-week “educational breaks” between two academic semesters. These intersemesters take place off-campus, at least in part, and may result in a public service qualification.

Intersemester IS1 is made up of a sequence of conferences dedicated to the engineering profession and 5 modules of general interest:
- Theatrical Techniques
- Documentary research
- English
- Electrics (qualification)
- First aid and citizenship (qualification)

Intersemester IS2 is a 4-week internship within a company to discover the world of work.
