HISTORY OF THE ENIB

1961 - The ENIB opens on the site of Kerichen High School, Brest (teaching takes place over
a 4-year period).

1977 - Installation within Brest's Science Faculty at Bouguen.

1987 - Teaching period increases to 5 years.

1987 - Introduction of the electronics option.

1987 - Introduction of the computer science option.

1988 - Creation of the electronics research laboratory.

1990 - Creation of the computer science research laboratory.

1992 - The ENIB moves to its new building (surface area 10,000m²) in the
Brest-Iroise technopole

2000
- A new status for the ENIB.

2000 - Introduction of the mechatronics option.

2004 - A new extension is built (3,000m²).

2004 - Construction of the European Centre for Virtual Reality CERV, 2,000m²).

2006 - Creation of the mechanics research laboratory.

2009 - Introduction of the Professional Systems and Services option.
