ENIB: a research institute
Many research projects are conducted through partnerships with industry and foreign academic institutions. These dynamics is reflected in publications (journals, books), but also conferences, patents... All of these activities and outputs contribute to the international reputation of research at ENIB.
2 research laboratories at the forefront of innovation:
- IRDL (in the field of mechanical systems and materials engineering)
- Lab-Sticc (in the field of Information and communication science and technology)
A research center: the European Research Center for Virtual Reality (CERV)
The CERV’s research focuses on virtual reality, autonomous behaviours, intelligent environments, Human-Machine interaction, and the modeling and simulation of complex systems.
Research Focus and Areas of Expertise
ENIB has developed strong expertise in 4 main scientific areas closely linked to the courses taught during the programme:
- Virtual reality for education, leisure and culture
- Engineering and computing sciences for biology and health
- Materials and adaptive systems for marine environments
- Photonic, optoelectronic and digital devices for very high-speed communications and for marine applications
